Gi Chair
Gi emerged as a provocation: “too simple to be true.” It is a chair that intrigues through its simplicity and compels the viewer to examine it closely, searching for what might be missing. The absence of traditional structural elements creates an empty space that becomes the true protagonist of the piece. The curved edges and backrest are hand-carved, with soft, fluid slopes that evoke organic forms found in nature. Its execution was made possible by anticipating the natural behavior of wood, positioning the seat grain to curve upward and freeing the front legs to follow the movement. The result is a seemingly simple, almost elemental chair that preserves, in its details, the complex beauty of nature.
These pieces are made of natural wood. Each species and batch have their own variations in tone, grain, grooves, and markings, which are natural characteristics of the material and do not constitute defects. Because it is an organic resource, it is not possible to predetermine the wood pattern used.
